The DANJ Difference

DANJ faculty include Broadway performers, members of leading dance companies, and professional choreographers. They have graduated from, and serve as faculty members for prestigious university and conservatory dance programs including NYU’s Tisch School of Arts, The Juilliard School, Ailey, Broadway Dance Center, and Steps.

DANJ's youngest dancers learn the basics of ballet and rhythm in preschool and ballet/tap/jazz classes. At six, many begin to take classes focused on specific dance styles. As they progress to advanced levels, they can study musical theater, modern, and contemporary.

DANJ holds its annual recitals in June - an event for students who wish to showcase what they have learned to their friends and family. Our faculty choose music and costumes, and develop original choreography for each group. The recital facility is local, modern, air conditioned, with a large, modern theater, and a large stage that we cover with professional dance flooring - a safer surface for dance!

Many DANJ student go on to dance after high school in universities, conservatories, and dance teams. They have attended Juilliard, Ailey, NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Boston Conservatory, USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance, to name a few. Our programs include mentoring with alumni from the top universities and conservatories, dance companies and theater.

DANJ provides training throughout the summer. Summer is a great time for students to try new things, push themselves to the next level, or simply maintain their skills so that they can start the next year ready to progress. Summer is also a great time to make new friends and meet many guest faculty.

DANJ's teams have achieved national recognition for exceptional technique, diverse choreography, and unique costuming. The dance portfolio is diverse - including works by over ten professional choreographers featuring jazz, tap, lyrical, modern, contemporary, hip hop, musical theater, and more. Dancers can choose the Company Team, Mini Team, Just Tappers, and Hip Hop Crew!

DANJ features six large, ultra-modern studios in 15,000 square feet of modern space. All of the dance floors are professional sprung for safety and finished with the highest quality dance industry surfaces. Spacious lounges for parents and children provide comfort. The parent lounge features large screen TVs for every dance room and WIFI.
