Tap Dancers Only

Dancers are placed in classes based on their skills. The school year tap classes are listed on the Age 8-18 Class Page. Dancers may, but are not required to train in other styles of dance.

DANJ’s professional choreographers create original tap works for soloists, duo/trios, and groups. Choreography and rehearsals are conducted as separate sessions (not in classes), generally on weekends. Dancers are required to participate in at least two groups and, if interested, can do solo(s) and duo/trios.

Competitions provide a fun and inspiring way for young dancers to perform on stage for family, friends and for professional feedback. DANJ seeks out competitions that attract talented dancers from other studios and engage highly respected judges. The team attends four regional and one national competition.
